University Technology Services will be performing maintenance on the SonicWALL anti- spam filter.

Flood Protection will be enabled on the SonicWALL spam/virus checking filters.

  What's the impact on me?
No impact, unless you send more emails per hour than allowed. If you exceed the amount, you will receive notification and your messages will be placed in the SonicWALL Junk Box so they can be retrieved if needed.
  What should I do?
Contact UTS Service Desk at (803) 777-1800 for additional information (Mon.-Fri., 8 a.m.-6 p.m.).

A QA VMware server suffered a hardware failure, which caused the VMs on that host to stop running. The VMs should automatically recovered across other hosts in the cluster.

The affected system(s) were unavailable.
  What should I do?
Please make note of the scheduled change or outage.
  Resolution (general):

University Exchange Email users (faculty and staff email) are receiving bounce-back messages when attempting to send emails to non-University recipients.
  Who's affected?
Application Users
Faculty and Staff
  What's the impact on me?
Exchange email users attempting to send email to non-University email addresses may received bounce-back messages stating that the email message was undeliverable.
  What should I do?
UTS staff are working on the problem. An update will be provided as soon as possible.
  UPDATES:
1/23/2013 4:51:33 PM - University email systems remains on a few block lists, technicians are working to resolve remaining block lists.
1/22/2013 4:30:22 PM - The University Exchange system has been removed from several Block lists but still remains on some. Technicians continue to work on the issue.



  Resolution (general):
University Exchange Email users (faculty and staff email) should no longer receive bounce-back messages when attempting to send emails to non-University recipients.
  Resolution (technical):
The University Exchange email system has been removed from known public spam block lists. Additional measures have been put in place to reduce and stop spam messages from being sent by the Exchange email system.
